Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass starts life right here in the USA. Southwest Greens is part of Shaw Industries (a Berkshire Hathaway company), and each turf strand is crafted in Shaw’s U.S. factories. Advanced equipment and Lean/Six Sigma systems drive precision and durability to achieve the highest standards in the industy. When you book to install artificial turf with Southwest Greens, you can be confident that you’re receiving high-quality, made-in-USA turf.
American Manufacturing: We produce turf in Shaw’s American plants such as Dalton, Georgia. Shaw’s technology investments ensure fiber uniformity and premium quality.
Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, we control each stage of turf creation. That enables us to maintain even quality and color across every roll, faster response for any warranty or service issue, and transparent production data for troubleshooting.
Rigorously Tested: Before any turf reaches you, it’s tested and validated through Shaw’s labs and outdoor fields. We test in a 13,000 sq. ft. indoor facility and 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test sites to emulate years of weather and play. Each fiber undergoes tests for UV stability, resilience, and ball/athlete behavior, so your lawn or putting green looks and performs like real grass without wilting or fading.
CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION
We keep evolving our turf to be even more realistic and resilient. Some of our latest innovations include:
Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: Our Bolt fiber has a patented lightning-bolt cross-section. It resists flattening and recovers quickly, surpassing conventional wear tests by 2x. Its curved structure prevents glossiness, giving the lawn a low-luster, lifelike appearance.
HydroChill® Cooling: We offer cooling infill that reduces turf temperatures by 30–50°F. This simple water-activated technology is perfect for warm-weather lawns and putting greens, keeping feet and paws comfortable even in summer’s heat.
Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are designed for rapid waste removal and odor resistance. No more muddy paw prints indoors. And how our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste prevents odor buildup and dead patches.
Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to show off your identity? Our Creaturf™ program lets you personalize turf with logos, patterns, or custom colors. From custom logos on backyard putting greens to decorative pet turf, this capability lets you design without limits.
TAILORED TO YOU
We gather feedback from users, golf pros, and designers to ensure our artificial turf perform in real settings. Feedback from golfers inspired us to develop a realistic “spring green” color that integrates naturally with fairways. Little details like this have made our products the top choice by Charlotte pro players, homeowners, and landscape architects alike.
We also create specialized systems tailored to any environment — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.
We take fake grass installation seriously. Proper installation is an art. Our synthetic turf behave like pro golf surfaces. That’s why pros like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam endorse Southwest Greens products. And because our connection to Shaw gives us unmatched flexibility, we can customize every layer of your turf.
LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND
At Southwest Greens, we never stop innovating. Big advancements are coming in 2026! Shaw Sports Turf revealed that customers will help pick upcoming field designs and that a patented “Game ON” synthetic turf (made in Calhoun, GA) will launch in 2026.
This playful spirit and technology will be available in landscaping products soon. We can’t give away every secret, but you can be confident, our R&D team is working hard on the next generation of artificial grass.
Future turf will combine science with customer-driven input, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
